Inner Engineering: How I Went from a Sceptic to Sobbing Like a Toddler (and Loving It)

My transformative journey from skepticism to tears to total acceptance

Sadhguru - The master who changed my perspective

Sadhguru - The master who changed my perspective

If you had asked me in early 2024 what I thought about Sadhguru and Isha, I would have given you the standard "logical engineer" answer:

"Looks interesting… but maybe another spiritual business model? Everyone talks nicely… but where does the money go?"

His talks always made sense, sure. They were thought-provoking. But at the same time I was convinced he must be running a galaxy-level operation in the name of divinity and emotions. So yes — I was a full-time sceptic with part-time curiosity.

But life has its ways of rearranging your opinions.

Let me tell you how it all started…

Sadhguru Padha

The Father–Son Cold War Era

Me and my father have always been… let's say… two highly opinionated men living under one roof.

He says left, I say right. He says hot, I say cold. He says "Don't argue," I say "Okay, but listen…" (and argument starts again).

This went on for YEARS. At some point I began wondering:

"There has to be a solution for this… something more advanced than 5G but less violent than throwing slippers."

And suddenly one day I heard that an Inner Engineering program was happening in Mandya.

Now here's the twist: My father is a very God-fearing man… and my parents are the kind of couple who go everywhere together, even to buy coriander leaves.

I thought, "Ah! This is my chance. Let me send them both. If not enlightenment, at least I want some peace at home."

So I convinced them to attend — purely as an experimental phase. And believe me… something happened.

For the first time in my entire lifetime, I saw my father handling situations calmly. Calmly! My father!!

That's when I thought:

"Okay… what exactly did they do to him? Maybe I should try this too."

Because honestly, I had my own anger issues and "handling-life-like-a-software-bug" problems.

The Message That Arrived at The Right Time

Then one fine day, I got a message: Inner Engineering program in Mandya — July 2024.

Perfect timing. Because at that exact phase of life, I was going through one of the hardest periods I've ever faced. You know those moments when everything feels upside down? That was me.

Inner Engineering felt like a helpline number the universe dialled for me.

Whenever someone now asks me:

"Why Inner Engineering?"

I say: I've done Engineering, Master's, and even PhD… but when it came to handling my own mind, emotions, and inner voice — I had zero engineering.

This is where Inner Engineering becomes the real tool — the user manual for the mind that nobody gives you at birth.

The Biggest Misconception People Have

Many people think it's a typical spiritual workshop or meditation crash course. But Inner Engineering is different.

Here you learn Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya, a 21-minute practice. A simple kriya… but one that works on you like a silent internal upgrade software.

I personally feel every human should learn this — because every human deserves to live life in more than one dimension.

Calm Meditation

My First Shambhavi Experience (AKA I Cried Like a Baby)

The program itself was brilliantly structured — honestly, nobody can design something like that except Sadhguru.

But what happened after initiation… I have no words.

On the second day, while doing Shambhavi, right in the middle of the kriya… I suddenly started crying.

Not gentle tears. Not cinema-style emotional moment.

No.

I cried like a full-size toddler who dropped his ice cream on the floor.

I didn't know why I was crying. There was no reason. No memory. Just tears pouring nonstop… I couldn't even breathe properly for a moment.

But after it was over, it felt like someone removed a giant mountain off my head. Complete lightness. Complete relief.

I walked out smiling at everything — humans, plants, animals… probably even the ceiling fan.

Crying Meditation

Life After Shambhavi

Since that day, life feels… different. • My calmness improved • My breathing improved (lung capacity is noticeably better) • My reactions reduced • My decisions became more conscious • Sleep quality improved • And most importantly… I stopped acting like a volcano with anger issues

But here's the important thing: Shambhavi is not a magic pill. It's a seed.

Sadhguru gives you the seed. But it grows only if you water it daily — 21 minutes every day.

Blissful Meditation

My Honest Conclusion

Inner Engineering is not something you do once and forget. It's something that redefines how you live, think, feel, and respond.

It won't turn you into a saint… but it will turn you into a better version of yourself, one who is conscious, healthier, and truly alive.

If you ever feel lost, overwhelmed, stressed, angry, confused, or simply curious about life…

Try Inner Engineering. It might just reconnect you with the version of yourself you've always wanted to meet.
